Brainwaves publishing was founded in 1994 by Dr. David Whitby. The initial focus has been on publishing material in the mental health and personal development field. The business has been online since 2004.
Dr. Whitby has had an avid interest in computers. He bought his first computer, a Commodore PET, in 1979. At that time IBM had not come out with the PC and there were no real existing programs. He programmed his computer, which had a very limited 32K memory, to run his office including an accounting program.
In 1980 a representative from IBM came to call. He was interested in how Dr. whitby was using a personal computer to run his office.
Dr. Whitby has now had very extensive online experience, with optimizing websites and online sales.
His friends have long been asking his advice on their business websites. As a result he became interested in local search and has developed expertise in this area.
This has led him to shift his focus for Brainwaves Publishing. He is now sharing that expertise in the local and mobile search market field.
